Brewer's Association Releases Guidance for New Independent Craft Brewer Seal
Due to popular demand, the Brewer's Association has teamed up with a number of industry members to develop a seal to help identify whether a beer is actually "craft beer", as opposed to beer produced by a larger brewery with the intent to portray an image of "craft".
The Brewer's Association's definition of "craft brewer" is focused on smaller, independent breweries who use traditional methods for ingredients and production.
Although a licensing agreement with the Brewer's Association must first be reached before using the seal, the Brewer's Association has already received authorization from TTB that revised COLA's will not be necessary for using the new seal.
